Life in the UK Sample Test
The Life in the UK test is a computer based test for those wishing to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or to Naturalise as a British Citizen.
The purpose of this "Britishness Test" is twofold; it fulfils the requirements for "sufficient knowledge of life in the United Kingdom" which was introduced for Naturalisation on 1 November 2005 and which was introduced for settlement on 2 April 2007. It also fulfills the English Language proficiency requirement.
The Life in the UK Test is made up of 24 multiple choice questions which are chosen randomly by a computer. Applicants are given 45 minutes in which to complete the test and are required to get 18 questions correct (75%). Each attempt to pass the test costs GBP34. The test is conducted at over 90 Life in the UK test centers across the country.
1st Contact has provided you with a free simulated test so that you can get a "real life" feel for what to expect. We have presented the test in a similar format to the official test you will take. Whilst the questions you'll answer are not the actual questions in the test they will give you a feel for whether or not you are ready to take the test.
Please take the practice test as many times as you'd like it's free and there are hundreds of questions which are randomly selected.
